Email Reference Service

The Hunt Library offers email reference service for individuals who are attending or teaching classes or who are employed at Embry-Riddle's Daytona Beach, FL, residential campus. The Reference Librarians will assist you in doing research and locating books, journal articles, documents, and other materials either in the Hunt Library's physical collection or through one of its many Web-based electronic databases and resources.

All you need to do is email your research question or citation lists (results of searching in a database) to dbref@erau.edu or fill out the Research Request Form. For research questions, a librarian will create a successful search strategy using our web-based online catalog and electronic resources. You'll then receive detailed instructions via email on the best way to locate relevant materials. You should have this response within two business days.

Once you have found items you want using the databases, you can forward a list of results to dbref@erau.edu or copy and paste the list into the Research Request Form, and a librarian will determine if the Hunt Library owns them. If any of your requested materials can be found in their entirety (full-text) online, we will instruct you on how to find them. If the requested items are in the library, you will be advised to visit the Reference Desk during regular operating hours to retrieve a list of the items we own, along with instructions on how to locate them.

This email reference service does not replace the live service that current students, faculty, and staff have always received. The physical Reference Desk will continue to be staffed daily by professional librarians. This service is an enhancement to our existing services and provides another option to assist you in your research.
