Public Access Computer Use Policy
- The computers are not to be used for anything that might violate library or University policies or local, state, federal, or international laws. The University's policy, Responsible Computing and Acceptable Use Policy, Policy 7.5, available at http://www.db.erau.edu/appm/policy/7-5.html, contains further guidelines for appropriate computer usage.
- The majority of the library's computers are for accessing the Internet, searching the library databases, and completing course-related activities. Several additional computers are designated as equipped with network log-ins allowing access to additional software and University drives.
- The computers are owned by ERAU, and therefore, are not to be modified in any way. Any abuse or tampering with the hardware or software will be subject to disciplinary action.
- The computers are primarily for course-related activities. Therefore, recreational use is discouraged. A patron engaging in non-research or course-related activities may be asked to relinquish the computer to someone wishing to conduct research or access ERNIE.
- Problems with the computer systems, including the printers, should be reported to the Reference or Circulation staff so that the problem can be corrected. Paper should be loaded into the printers by Circulation or Reference staff only.
- The library has no control over the information found on the Internet. For assistance finding reliable information, please consult a Reference Librarian.
- Because access to the Internet is not filtered, library users must be sensitive to the public nature of the library. Proper care should be taken to insure the appropriateness of sites. Please do not display any inappropriate or offensive materials.
- Use of these computers does not guarantee privacy or confidentiality of information or identity.
- Please use the Print Preview option to ensure printing only the pages you required.
