Borrowing Materials (Community Patron Cards)

Community residents of Volusia County may obtain a community patron library card by showing proof of residency and filling out an application at the Circulation Desk. Once the application is processed, the card will be mailed to the patron’s address. Check-out privileges will begin once the patron has received the card in the mail and signed it. The Community Patron card and a photo ID must be presented at the Circulation Desk in order to check out items from the library. Community Patrons are expected to adhere to the Hunt Library Code of Conduct. Borrowing privileges may be denied if the code of conduct is violated.

Borrowing privileges for Community Patrons are suspended when one item is overdue or any fines are owed (see Overdues, Fines, and Lost Materials for more information).

The following will be accepted as proof of residency:

  • Volusia County ID / Drivers License with current address
  • Current (within two months) bank statement or utility bill showing current address along with photo ID to confirm identity
  • Lease of at least six (6) months duration showing address in Volusia county
  • Other forms of ID may be acceptable at the discretion of the Associate Director for Circulation and Media Services
  • Lease of at least 6 months duration along with photo ID to confirm identity
